Physiotherapy of athletes
About therapy
Physiotherapy for physically active and sporting individuals is aimed at compensation and possible solution of physical problems associated with the given sport. The imaginary goal is to enable sports people to function without pain and limitation.
We focus on:
- Acute post-traumatic conditions of athletes
- Chronic problems of the musculoskeletal system caused by an injury or unilateral loading during sports
- Improving the athlete's performance
- Selection of suitable compensatory and regenerative programs for the athlete
- Injury prevention
When visiting a physiotherapist, a kinesiological analysis is first carried out with regard to the sport in question and an examination of muscle imbalances. Based on the results of the kinesiological analysis, the goals and methods of sports physiotherapy are determined. The therapy is focused on the treatment of functional disorders of the locomotor system, on overloading and functional chaining of disorders.
The most common injuries and chronic problems of athletes:
- Iliotibial tract syndrome
